My slate for the primaries—
July 23, 2026
Who is on my BALLOT for the August Primaries.
I am not a Politico. But I can tell you who I am voting for. I am going to start with who is on MY BALLOT in SOG, then I’ll add a few others who I can’t vote for but you can bet that if I could I would! Of course, I am a registered Democrat. I would honestly prefer to be Independent, but we live in a state where if I want to vote in a Primary I have to choose. State Senator- I am voting for Angie Nixon for Florida This is a hard one for me because I think Vindman would do a fine job. I met Angie at a fundraiser a few weeks ago and I was blown away! (I’ll support Vindman if he makes the run off) Governor- David Jolly- I’ve seen him speak, he is very impressive. (I’ve never heard of any of the others) CFO- Annette Taddeo- I know little about this race. I have to depend on more well versed friends for this ballot. Commissioner of Ag- I think it could go either way and won’t matter, the real face off is Matt the Welder and Wilton Simpson. Board of County Commissioners District 7- I LOVE me some Aileen Rodriguez For Hillsborough County Commission She has been working hard to return this seat to someone who LIKES THE CITY OF TAMPA. She is running because she cares about our community, ALL of it. Aileen is a class act and should be on the BOCC. I’ve met with her several times and discussed City and SOG issues because they are important to HER! Circuit Judge 13th Judicial Circuit Group 7- Sara Peacock for Circuit Court JudgeCircuit Judge 13th Judicial Circuit Group 13- Jim Wimsatt School Board District 2- This one is hard- I am going with Daniela Simic as I feel she is more emersed in the school board culture and understanding of our local needs. , I like Chris but I wish he had run for the state legislature to be honest with you. The third candidate, Lyssy, I have personal experience being on the budget committee for the City of Tampa with her. She did NOTHING when she did show up. She contributed NOTHING and brought her children (infant and toddler) to a 4 hour long meeting about the budget? How is that developmentally appropriate for her children? If you can’t make good decisions for your own children, how do you make decisions for thousands of other folks children? School Board District 6- Karen Perez- she’s worked hard for our kids. She’s accessible and willing to listen to logical arguments. I know Sally used to live in South Tampa and she owned Circle C. She called me when I said I wouldn’t support her. I explained WHY I would not support her. ^^^^ This is my ballot for August^^^^^ The following are other races that are outside my ballot that friends might be interested in. Only for folks I know PERSONALLY. Congressional District 12- I support Kimberly Overman for Congress- She is the only candidate that lives in TAMPA since Tally was nice enough to gerrymander the district so that it is spread from here to Orlando. SMH State Rep D63- Robin Lockett-Candidate for State House Distrct 63 all the way!! She is an amazing friend and organizer for fighting for the rights of folks in Florida. She is someone who is diplomatic enough to get things done in Tally even though she’ll be surrounded by Republicans. State Rep D64-@Luis Salazar for Florida State House, I believe he has a great personality to deal with being in Tally. State Rep D67- Luis Viera- I think there is no better guy to go to Tally to deal with the Republicans! He will be the BEST representative that this district could possibly send. I’ve watched him on TCC for years and think this is the perfect next step for him. I want to say that I have spent time with all of these folks except David Jolly. Good people are what we need.
