- Administration Update
- TPD impound money pit…update. When does the spending STOP? We don’t have the money to do another tens of million dollar project!! They want to bond MORE money for small projects, we’ll be up to $130 MILLION IN BONDS!! Who is going to pay for that? Then they mentioned that they’d come back to the well for another $400 million for a police station yesterday during the budget meetings. Are we going to be BROKE like Detroit? Who knows? I know this doesn't sound nice but when do we pull in the reigns on the spending? The scope creep of spending this kind of funding without a BIG picture on how long it will be paid for AND...the fact that this administration and the previous one didn't want to raise impact fees to what it COSTS....not making money off of them but simply charging for services what it costs to provide those services. I did ONE in lieu of fee calculation...in FY24 and thus far in FY25--- more than $8million!!! We can't have it both ways, there isn't a money tree in the COT.
- The administration report on establishing an office for returning citizens. Is there not already this type of service in the County/state level that we could coordinate with?
- Honorary street naming for J. Leonard Levy and George Levy—go Ron Weaver! He’s been working on this!
- 5 minute report on parking compliance in Ybor. Lord… why can’t parking lots get their ducks in a row. This seems like it shouldn’t be this hard.
- Apprenticeships incentives ordinance requested for contractors with the COT. Are they not using them already? It would make sense if they did?
- Creation of the Charter Review Advisory Commission- please be sure they address a 4 month vacancy on TCC, how can this be done more effectively? ALSO-- lets figure out how the budget process can be made more transparent and likely TCC needs to have more time to adjust the budget as they see fit.
- City Council to discuss rules of the committee and general themes of Council—this should be FUN…or REALLY painful!
- Report on Land Development Code reform
