July 17, 2025
7/17/25
- The Mayor’s Budget Presentation! I am glad to see that she’s coming in person. I think it is great she’s taking ownership of the budget.
- Police officer of the month commendation.
- A dry body Mobile Command Center for $453k for TPD
- Interlocal agreement for UAS the for Dedrone system for 10 year cost share of $218k. For drone cooperative agreements?
- Decrease in the Division of Emergency Management grant from $3.2 million to $2.7 million
- See item #5
- Movement of funds for “transportation equipment” for TPD. What is that? It doesn’t say in either document? It’s not enough for a car but too much for a bike? $17k?
- Agreement with the COT and Lexisnexis for Law Enforcement software for $22k.
- Purchase 2 Freightliner Heavy trucks with chipper body from Tampa Truck Center for $485k
- Movement of $392k of funds for item #9
- I am EXCITED to see a list of WEST PARKS—grounds maintenance, which I find interesting because it looks more like TREE maintenance, NOT grounds because it is quoted per cut. BUT, like I said, this is the 1st time I’ve seen a list of the parks to be serviced. $250k, Interesting also that Nelson’s wins so many tree contracts but was nearly twice the quote of the lowest bidder.
- Replacement Bollards and gates for $300k renewal of contract. I just wonder that these things last a long time, are we really in NEED of an additional $300k bollards and gates? What happens if they don’t use all the funds? Did they use them all last year? If so, where were they placed?
- Two homes demolished by the COT because of neglect of the structures by the homeowners. (1) 2819 N Taliaferro Ave, and (2) 301 E Azalea Ave
- The list of homes that the COT has preformed lawncare for the following properties because of their neglect. (1) 6710 S Gabrielle St, (2) 2211 E Annie St, (3) 1002 E Osborne Ave, (4) 8711 N Ashley St, (5) 2407 Harper St 1/2, (6) 4724 W Iowa Ave, and (7) 1418 W Perdiz St
- HUD funds moved to Neighborhood and Community Affairs for $96k for Fair Housing Assistance Program.
- Movement of $40k from the Tree Trust Fund to Parks & Rec for a tree assessment that was provided on May 1, 2025. If staff has this report WHY IS NOT in the record??
- Re-allocation of funds for the West Tampa Elevated Water Storage Tank Improvements. $555k with Water Department funds.
- $301k for sidewalk maintenance with Moreno Industrial Services. Change Order 2—the first CO was also for the same amount, so this is getting to be a contract for over $900k. But are we getting the SAME amount of services? Less services? What areas were repaired/maintained during year one of the contract and year 2 of the contract? Are we still paying the same price for the same job or MORE for smaller square footages? It’s not clear. It says in the Fiscal Impact that it is for sidewalk construction, does that mean the funding is coming from the IN LIEU of Fees?
- Work order agreements up to $200k for Architectural, mapping and Engineering Contracts as needed by the COT. I am glad to see a list of firms on the 2nd pages of the 3rd document.
- Reworld Contract with Solid Waste to dispose of TIRES for 3 years for $1.6million. So, the Citizens of Tampa are paying $1million MORE for this contract because the lowest bidder is located 10 miles too far from the COT? (50 miles instead of the cap of 40 miles) Wow!
- REBID Change Order 1- resolution for Green Spine Project From 7th Ave to 21st Ave- It says that it is to fix the Wage Rate Decision Number Table--- which is not very apparent in the documents. It says there is no change in the $$ of the project?
- Change Order 1 for Green spine for trails for both bike and walking uses. It says Zero is the amount of funding change. It says only the Wage Rate Decision Number Table is being changed as with item #21
- Change Order 1 for Green spine for trails for both bike and walking uses. It says Zero is the amount of funding change. It says only the Wage Rate Decision Number Table is being changed as with item #21& 22
- Contract with J&M materials of Riverview for AWTP Parking lot addition of $300k for 39 spaces at the Curren Wastewater plant. Interesting cost for comparison when folks ask for reduction in parking?
- $13k for contract with Municode for various departments- to prepare code for them. The new company name is CivicPlusLLC
- Assignment agreement with Bromberg Translations- for interpreter services. The assignment doesn’t say how much it is now. But the last assignment was $120k
- An assignment/amendment agreement with Caladesi Construction for small jobs. $4 million for FY25 but $12 million for FY2026? That is a HUGE jump! It mentions hardening infrastructure. Is any of this coming from the Stormwater funds?

- Easement for 4100 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd for repair/replacement etc of water facilities.
- Easement and Hold Harmless between Tampa Housing Authority and the City of Tampa for wastewater easement at W main and W Green St
- Approval of monitoring fees for compliance and housing placement fees paid by developers of affordable housing in the COT under bonus agreements. Seems really CHEAP to me. The first 25 units $500 then anything with 26 units or more…so if it is 300 units, it is still only $1000? At least the annual monitoring fee is more realistic because it charges PER UNIT. Not that I have any doubt that Tally preempted this nonsense. How much does it COST the COT to process these two items??
- This designates that the Admin of Growth and development as the person who would handle plat and replat of properties.
- $345k to Reliable Transmission service to furnish Transmissions to fleet maintenance over a 36 month period.

- $550k for monitoring the Sprinkler system and fire pumps for logistics by Sprinklermatic Florida
