Sean Robinson, Don Lott, Sundai Reynoso, Gaston Meredith, Malissiza “Missy” Pitcher, Amie Devero, Tommy Whitehead, Carly Puleo, and Dominique Cagle to the Equal Business Opportunity Advisory Committee. 4 of these folks don’t live in the City of Tampa, two more maybe do/maybe don’t? I don’t know any of them, but does this mean that we couldn’t find residents of the COT that could fill these roles. Some have businesses in Tampa, which IMHO qualifies them, others…don’t show the connection. IDC, but just making folks aware of the issue… folks should have a vested interest in the City if they are on a board.

$2million dollars for a Nature Based Solutions Project at Picnic Island. I had to go to page 27/65 to even figure out what they are doing in this $2 million project. Why have a one pager if you can’t understand what you are spending that kind of money on???? Ideally, since it is supposed to help with the flood risk in Port Tampa City, it would be nice if someone had mentioned this to the RESIDENTS in the last 5 months since hundreds of them endured floods from storm surge??!! Who is in charge of this…why is it a SECRET? This project SHOULD have been suggested as a short term Stormwater solution….why NOT??
-

COT with Pennoni Associates for Channel District Improvements for design purposes, for 9 street segments? -
$140k for Fehr & Peers for professional services for Mobility and Multimodal fee update services?? This is the study I have had since 9/15/23…are we just now paying for this? I also brought this study up at the Workshop on 1/30? When there was what appeared to be a duplicate expense on that agenda?? When will these FEES be updated so that our tax dollars will quit supplementing new development. The ONBASE items fail to mention the contractor for the services mentioned. I have had the ATTACHED document since 9/15/23, yet, it's not been presented to you?
From 1/30 agenda: 4. File No. CM23-999 Mobility Staff to provide an update on the Mobility/Multi-Modal Impact Fee Study. $4.5 million contract with Bank of America for CC services. Are these fees passed on to the CONSUMER who is using the credit cards or are the Citizens of Tampa paying for them with their tax dollars? -
COT purchase 4801 and 4803 East Hillsborough Ave for the TFR for the Maintenance and Supply Shop. Why does this mention that this is in the East Tampa CRA? Purchase price is $4.6 million and $50k in closing costs. Why would the COT pay 9.5% above appraised value for a property?? SMH… In the rest of the world, the owners would discount the price of the property meet the appraisal. Only STUPID people pay over appraisal unless the Real Estate Department knows something we don’t? Umm, did anyone tell them that the market is in DECLINE in our city?
