Weekly Agenda Review
January 26, 2023
1/26/23 There is NO Item 1? 2. unpermitted structures throughout the city. Reporting that 1952 complaint inspections last year, 73% resulted in formal violations, more in the memo in SIRE 3. Green building initiative- fast track permitting and discounted fees. 4. Protocol and and communication with City Council during emergency situations. 5. Proposed ordiance that requires administration to report any investigations to TCC within 10 days. 6. Ethics, Ethics, Ethics, transparency and accountability discussion- I wouldn't miss this one. It is NOT in SIRE-- but City Attorney Zelman, it would likely come before Council at the same time as this workshop--- That the Ethics commission recommended that they remove MONEY as part of the description of a Lobbyist. That would, effectively mean that anytime a neighborhood leader meets with our representatives, we'd be required to register with the city. a. The City doesn't enforce the current lobbyist registration. b. The requirement of registering each meeting with our representation, infringes on our 1st Amendment rights. c. Why do they need to know when the voters meet with members of council? d. I hope the City Legal department walks away from this proposal. 7. Administration is asking to look into having City of Tampa having elections on even years instead of odd. (Makes sense as more voters will turn out) 8. Hearing any item over 20 million dollars multiple times rather than only one hearing (Like 108 million dollar request for Hanna Street, 220 million for waste energy plant ) 9. Feasibility of Staff reports being held on a different day than Thursday. 10. Policy to limit the workshop items placed on an agenda? Huh? As well as limiting staff reports-- the problem with this is there are folks on council that it is VERY CLEAR that some of the councilmen don't read
