Weekly Agenda Review
August 25, 2022
, 8/25/22 his weeks TCC agenda is RIDICULOUS!!! Too much! 4. Administration update--- NO DOCUMENTS in Sire 5. Design build for McKay Bay- $17 millon dollars- part 1 6. Allocation of $7M for McKay Bay retrofit, upgrades 7. $220 million BOND to be issued for McKay Bay- 5-7—My previous knowledge of this subject- forgive me because I don’t have the dates of previous meetings where this was explained. The city of Tampa is one of only two municipalities in the country that own their own waste to energy firms. CoT used to contract out the facility use, that has been brought back into the role of the city. While the contractor was running the facility they did little to no differed maintenance. This has left issues to be addressed by the CoT. CoT is also moving a considerable amount of the solid waste department off of the How location to McKay Bay location. 8. $5Million for consulting on Tampa Moves? I’d hope for some actual work on our streets for $5M?? 9. Armed Security guard services- $5.4 million at Mobility/parking, Logistics/Asset Management, Solid Waste, Environmental Program Management and Ybor City Development Corp. 10. Janitorial services for the Convention Center $5.3 million for two year contract. 11 & 12 $4.9 million to Catholic Charities, Diocese of St Pete for homeless services over 5 years including support for Tampa HOPE. 13. CoT is throwing in $500k for basketball courts on Liberty/Freedom complex. Personally, I am asking if these courts will be open to the public when school is not in session? HCPS fences in all their properties and there is no access for children except when they are in school. If these funds were spent for a basketball court at a parks and rec facility, citizens would have unlimited access. If we are paying half, we should have half access. 30 &31. Hyde Park community Fund is donating $20k for a sail to be placed over the playground at Anderson park. 32. $40k for the Zion Cemetery memorial from the FL and National Endowment of the arts. 33. Submission to HUD about HOME-ARP plan 89. Don’t get me started on how WRONG this is… the city is giving away an Easement to a developer that is ROBBING citizens of the city of Tampa of their back yards!! I have one neighbor who will literally 6’ from the property line after they give this away! I am working on it… Stephanie 90. Same as above- please be certain if your Neighbors own abutting property they’re not losing out on the easement as well. 7815 N. River Shore Drive 91. I am not 100% but I think it means they will be billing for Stormwater services for newly developed property on October 1. 103. Looks like Downtown and Ybor CRA are participating in paying for the streetcar 104. Downtown CRA stuff--- I refuse to read it because it is TIME to sunset the Downtown CRA!! Those funds need to return to the General fund! 105. Westshore Area funding of enhanced services. 106. Special Assessment for Spanish Main street for street lights. 107.
