Tampa City Council Agenda Review: 7/14/22 LOTS GOING ON... #12- The Planning department discussing Quads and adding the opportunity to our land use in the City. #16- Commendations-- Why is this a plan for only Police, Fire and Union Employees? Why are staff not given Commendations? I know someone asked to give one to Miray when she left Neighborhoods, she deserved it, but it was against policy? #18- Looking at City protections against slumlords like Silver Oaks and Timber Falls #19- Legislation to require the administration to report legal investigations to TCC within 10 days. (DOJ investigation of TPD took 5 months and a newspaper article to disclose?) #20 - Temporary Council for TCC when their council is out. (My personal thoughts are they should have two attorneys ALL THE TIME- the current way of doing TCC business has been in place for 20+ years and a population that has increased by 25+%) #21- TCC Budget Committee- needs help with structures as it is solely made up of TCC appointments- needs a secretary and someone on staff to be responsible for notifications, minutes etc-- (yes, I am on this committee) #22- Hiring folks with criminal backgrounds- #23- Roller skating and skateboarding regulations-- Someone might want to read this one...not sure what they are looking to do? Especially considering the push for biking, walking and micro-mobility. #26- Lot reconfiguration under FD. Looks like a change in verbiage, not sure of the impact #30-- Street Smart Software purchase, but when we look at the website, TPD is already praising this company? It doesn't say renewal? #101-- IS THIS PURE????? Who knows??
BUDGET line items.... I am NOT an expert at looking at these line items by any stretch of the imagination! #6- $8 million dollars but I don't see the bid information? Maybe I missed it? #47- Two Bids- Difference $83,209 Savings- 7.42% #48 - Five Bids- Difference $449, 226 Savings - 27% #53- Two Bids-- Difference $66375 Savings $11.8% There are other bids on the agenda but you can see where I am going? Where is the bid for the $8 million dollar project. You can also SEE that bids save our tax dollars and make them go further. I know at my house we rarely buy anything without checking prices. Impulse shopping with our tax dollars should be a NO GO. The sidewalk fund budget is $600k this year. These three items alone saved the city that much in tax dollars.... ponder that! PS. I typed up more of the difference in the budget items, then accidently deleted the post, so I got lazy on you.
